Description

Use this delicious fruit-based syrup to make fabulous homemade flavored water!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chopped fruit of your choice (strawberries, blueberries, peaches, watermelon, etc)

  1. Bring water and sugar to simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Add fruit and continue to simmer for about 25 minutes.
  2. Set a strainer over a jar or bowl and carefully pour mixture into strainer. Use the back of a spoon to gently push any extra juice out of fruit. Allow mixture to cool before using or storing in the refrigerator. Store, covered, up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
  3. To serve, add 1-2 teaspoons to a glass and top with 8 fluid ounces of sparkling or still water. Add fresh herbs, sliced fruit and plenty of ice and enjoy.
